Grows to about 35 feet tall. Native to the eastern United States, this tree produces an almost-tropical fruit about the size and shape of a potato; the delicate green skin holds large seeds and a delicious pulp the consistency and taste of banana pudding. Pawpaw leaves are the sole source of food for the Zebra Swallowtail butterfly.
